Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier believes that his club-mate Harry Kane's success with the national squad has opened the way for youngsters like himself and Marcus Rashford into the Roy Hodgson's team.
Manchester United teenager Marcus Rashford is set to make his Three Lions debut this Friday against Australia and Dier feels Spurs star Kane has given Hodgson and his coaching staff the confidence to pick inexperienced talent in their side.
Speaking about Rashford's rise to the national squad, Dier said: "I think maybe Harry opened the door for people like Marcus this season.
"It is brilliant that if you are good enough, you are old enough and I think he fully deserves all the credit he has been getting.
"It has been an unbelievable few months for him."
