Tottenham star Harry Kane has revealed that he will not let the England captaincy affect his performances on the pitch after manager Gareth Southgate confirmed that he will led the country against Slovenia on Thursday.
Former Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has suggested that the captaincy could affect the goal scoring form of Kane.
The 24 year old however does not feel that this will be the case, saying
"Having an armband on your arm doesn't make any difference to how you play and if you score goals or not," he said. "It makes me very proud. Growing up as a kid you dream about playing for your country and being captain as well. Walking out at Wembley will be an amazing thing for me, personally.
"I'll just go out there and do my best for the team, try and score goals and win the match.'
"We have plenty of leaders in the team. Plenty of us will speak up and try to help each other on the pitch, be there for each other when things are tough."
