Tottenham star Gareth Bale has made Spanish newspaper Marca's Team of the Year.
Not unexpectedly, the line-up is dominated by Real Madrid and Barcelona stars, with Bale and Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon the only players to play outside of Spain.
Bale's inclusion alongside the Barcelona trio of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi proves just far how stock has risen and further evidence of his growing stature in the game.
Marca's Team of the Year (4-3-3):
Casillas (Real Madrid); Maicon (Inter Milan), Pique (Barcelona), Puyol (Barcelona), Bale (Spurs); Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Xavi (Barcelona), Iniesta (Barcelona); Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Villa (Barcelona), Messi (Barcelona).
