Tottenham spy Bayer Leverkusen defender Tah as Alderweireld replacement

Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah is being watched by Tottenham.

The Mirror says Spurs have been scouting Bayer Leverkusen ace Tah – as insurance in case Toby Alderweireld leaves.

The Londoners have been present at several of the £35million-rated defender's games since problems first surfaced with Alderweireld.

The club have failed to reach an agreement with the Belgium international on a new deal and it is understood they will look to offload him in the summer.

The former Southampton stopper should have no shortage of takers and Spurs are likely to go again with the proceeds of any sale of the 29 year-old.

Tah, 22, has a proven pedigree and has broken into Leverkusen's first team after his switch from Hamburg, also making his debut for Joachim Low's Germany side.
