Tottenham sound out Valencia for Miguel

Tottenham have approached Valencia for fullback Miguel.

The Observer says the Valencia right-back has been made available for transfer after falling foul of new coach Ronald Koeman's disciplinarian regime at the Mestalla.

Spurs, who are in the market for a goalkeeper, right-, left- and centre-back, failed in an £8million bid for Alan Hutton earlier this month when the Scotland full-back elected to remain at Rangers. That offer further unsettled current right-back Pascal Chimbonda, who has since gone public with his desire to leave the club.

Valencia have expressed an interest in Chimbonda, raising the prospect of a swap plus cash deal for Miguel if the Spanish side are able to match the France international's wage demands.
