Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is considering a shock swoop for Newcastle United striker Michael Owen.

The Sunday Sun says with the striker free to speak to other clubs in January and arrange a free transfer for when his contract expires next summer, selling him for a knock-down price in the New Year remains an option for Newcastle.

And new Tottenham manager Redknapp has already expressed an interest in taking Owen to White Hart Lane.
