Tottenham skipper Jenas: Comeback all down to Harry

Tottenham skipper Jermaine Jenas says last night's stunning 4-4 draw with Arsenal was down to the inspiration of new gaffer Harry Redknapp.

Despite going ahead through a David Bentley wonder goal, Spurs looked down and out at 4-2 down after the Gunners hit their best attacking form.

But in the closing minutes Jenas made it 4-3 with a curling effort and Aaron Lennon prodded home the equaliser deep in injury time.

"Harry is great motivationally," Jenas told Sky Sports 2. "The lads have done him a favour today by reacting to it.

"It showed complete team spirit and togetherness. We always believed.

"We just showed that never-give-in spirit. Any team who comes to the Emirates and gets a result has done well but given the circumstances this is just brilliant."

Redknapp was equally pleased by the thrilling late comeback from his new charges.

"It's been a good week so far," he added on Sky Sports 2.

"We had a great start on Sunday, then to show that character here was fantastic. There are some good players here.

"Certain parts let us down but when we have the ball we're very good. Scoring four shows how good we are going forward.

"To come away with something was great...a real throwback to the old days."

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger admitted he was annoyed at the way his side threw away their two-goal advantage, but insisted it will be a lesson learned for his young side.

"I'm angry because we produced an outstanding game and got the minimum result," he said.

"We wanted to win the game and absolutely certainly were a level above Tottenham but we didn't get the points.

"This team has outstanding potential but we need to be guarded in decisive moments. But you learn from times like this. It is damaging but it was a derby and I believe it happens in football. The team will learn, they are intelligent.

"If you look at the number of shots compared to goals, they (Spurs) were very well rewarded tonight."
