Tottenham skipper Dawson happy he dug in when AVB tried to sell

Tottenham captain Michael Dawson admits he could easily playing be elsewhere if he'd accepted manager Andre Villas-Boas original decision to sell him.

Dawson put in an excellent display as Spurs beat Arsenal 2-1 on Sunday at White Hart Lane.

"Football is a funny thing," said Dawson.

"I didn't play football for the first three months and now I am playing.

"The manager had a hard time at Chelsea and he has come here and things have gone great, and long may it continue.

"You can't stand still in football because teams move on. We keep improving. We have a fantastic squad."
