New Tottenham signing Brad Friedel admits playing in Turkey was one of the great times of his career.
Friedel played for Graeme Souness at Galatasaray.
He said: "One of the best times I had was when I played in Turkey.
"For a young American kid from the Mid-west to go there and be able to experience Muslim culture was absolutely fantastic.
"Some might not have done it, but for me it was one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life - in a good way.
"People ask me what I thought of Istanbul and I loved it.
"I know supporters between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray get a bit crazy, but it was the best move I ever made in football."
