Tottenham are ready to deliver Luka Modric a bumper pay-rise to keep him from Chelsea's clutches.
The Sunday Mirror says they will make Modric the highest paid player at the club if he gets over his Chelsea disappointment.
The Blues are expected to make a last-ditch offer for the Croatia midfield ace.
But Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has again stressed he will not be allowed to leave.
So the club will lessen the blow by offering him a £25,000-a-week rise.
That will take him to £70,000 a week - and he still has five years left on the six-year deal he signed in June 2010.
