A return to Tottenham is being mooted for Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.
The Daily Express says Spurs boss Harry Redknapp plans to make a midfield signing in January after it was last night confirmed he will be without Tom Huddlestone for at least three months.
Carrick could be a January target for Redknapp if Manchester United manage to persuade Sunderland to sell £20m-rated Jordan Henderson.
