Tottenham are seeking a replacement for Kevin Wimmer before selling the Austrian.

The Mirror says Spurs are ready to ship out misfit Wimmer — and replace him with an English defender.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been eyeing Swansea's Alfie Mawson and Middlesbrough's England prospect Ben Gibson as summer targets.

But they are keen to get rid of Austrian centre-back Wimmer first to help balance the books.

Southampton are interested while there has also been enquiries from the Bundesliga.
