Tottenham defender Jonathan Woodgate has once more been struck down by injury, putting his future in doubt once again.
The 31-year old limped out of a reserve team match against Barnet yesterday with a calf problem, hijacking his chances of taking on former club Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Woodgate has played just one competitive match for Spurs since the end of March last year but looked to be on the road to recovery when he made a half-hour cameo against AC Milan on February 15.
But he has endured another setback and his future at White Hart Lane is uncertain although manager Harry Redknapp did say he would be in the touring party for the Madrid clash.
"It's not good news - a real blow to him and the club," Redknapp said.
"He had been training well recently and I was hoping to feature him against Real next week.
"He'll still travel with us as part of the squad. Real is his old club and this match means so much to him."
