Tottenham centre-back Jonathan Woodgate took part in a training-ground game on Tuesday as he eases his way back from a career threatening groin injury. The 30-year-old has been out of action since November 2009 and has undergone a series of operations on the problem.
He returned to training towards the end of 2010 and played for 45 minutes in a 9-2 Tottenham XI win over QPR.
"Woody was outstanding," Spurs' technical co-ordinator Tim Sherwood told the club's website.
"He's not played for such a long time, but it was as if he'd never been away."
Woodgate could leave the club before the close of the transfer window - although boss Harry Redknapp will only consider a loan move to help the centre-half recover fitness after such a long time on the sidelines.
