Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart hopes he and his teammates can start to get the better of the English Premier League's lower rated teams before it gets too late.
Spurs have mixed it with the best in recent times but the Dutchman feels that improved showings against clubs further down the table, including their upcoming battles with Aston Villa, Newcastle, Fulham and Everton, will prove important in the long run.
"We have to win our games and have confidence that we will be in the top four," he said.
"It will be hard work. There are a lot of good teams but we play well against the big teams and some of the small clubs we have our problems."
