Tottenham ace Rafael van der Vaart is looking to put his best foot forward when Holland compete in their last two Euro2012 qualifiers beginning on Friday against Moldova.
The Spurs attacker will be given a chance by manager Bert van Marwijk to play in the role normally filled by Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder, who is out with injury, and he is planning to do all he can to convince the Dutch boss to keep him in that position.
"I am focusing on the position of deep-lying playmaker at the moment. Sneijder was in superb form at the 2010 World Cup and you know that he'll start as attacking midfielder whenever he's available," the former Real Madrid man said.
"That makes perfect sense to me as long as he continues to perform like this. Things might change, though, if his form drops and the coach wants to try something else."
Holland cannot lose top spot in Group E ahead of their matches against the Moldovans in Rotterdam tomorrow and Sweden in Solna on Tuesday.
