Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that he feels the club was never all that close to signing Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero.
The Spurs manager attempted valiantly to bring in a new face to the squad in the last few days of the January transfer window but admitted that 22-year old Aguero was never a realistic chance of leaving Madrid.
"There was never a chance of getting him really, was there? It sounded good but it wasn't going to happen," he said.
As for any signings in the summer to bolster his playing roster, Redknapp was unsure, preferring to see how the season pans out.
"You never know. We'll see how we go and what the rest of the season brings."
