Tottenham's Redknapp hoping he can hold onto depth in New Year

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is facing some sort of exodus this winter if fringe players get their way.

The likes of Roman Pavlyuchenko, Sebastien Bassong, Vedran Corluka and Heurelho Gomes are all keen to get regular first team football elsewhere from January and Redknapp is aware he could lose some of these types if he does not juggle his squad well enough.

"It's difficult because the players want to play. You won't keep them happy [if they're not]. You just hope you can convince them [to stay]," he said.

"You want to keep them happy and onside. We need them. We're going to need a big squad and unless you can get a replacement, you can't afford to let people go.

"We need that strength in depth, especially if we stay in the Europa League."
