Tottenham's Redkapp hopeful of Bale, Gallas presence

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has his fingers crossed for the fitness of star winger Gareth Bale and central defender William Gallas for tomorrow night's Champions League match in Spain.

Spurs meet Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the quarter-final first leg and Redknapp hopes that the pair, who both missed Saturday's trip to Wigan, are right for the vital fixture.

"Hopefully Gareth will be fit. He is going to train tonight," said Redknapp.

"Let's hope he has no problems and if he is OK then he will play.

"William Gallas is going to train tonight. Hopefully he will be fit."

But Redknapp confirmed that former Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar will not play whilst Croatian Niko Kranjcar is in doubt.

"Steven Pienaar didn't travel. He has a groin injury," he added.

"Niko Kranjcar is struggling with a foot injury. He kicked the bottom of someone's boot on Saturday against Wigan.

"It is badly bruised and swollen. In fact at the moment we might have six subs on the bench instead of seven."
