Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara is in the dark over whether he will be able to extend his loan at Portsmouth.
With his loan spell due to expire on January 15, the Spurs midfielder is keen to stay at Fratton Park for the second half of the season to attempt to steer Pompey away from relegation.
But the club's transfer embargo could yet see him return to White Hart Lane and then perhaps join a rival club in another loan deal.
O'Hara told The News: "I don't know what the whole situation is so I'm just trying to wait and see what happens.
"I mean, obviously, it's up on the 15th so once I know then we can try and sort something out but I think there's a clause in it where Tottenham maybe want me to go to three clubs and if Portsmouth can't do it then maybe I'll be going elsewhere.
"I'm disappointed obviously. I've been doing really well here, I'm enjoying my football so obviously I don't want to go back and not play.
"But we are going to see what happens in the next week or so and hopefully something can get sorted out."
