Tottenham's Lloris urges France to keep moving forward

France captain Hugo Lloris has implored the team to keep progressing as the 2014 World Cup approaches.

Les Bleus qualified for the Brazil tournament by virtue of a two-legged playoff win over Ukraine which culminated in November and Lloris is hoping that triumph can function as a stepping stone for what is ahead.

France host Holland in a friendly in Paris on Wednesday night and Tottenham goalkeeper Lloris is looking for a top quality performance from Didier Deschamps' men.

"It has to serve as a starting point," he told reporters of the 3-0 second leg win over Ukraine after trailing 2-0.

"We must continue on this path and go as far as possible. We must always seize the initiative regardless of what game it is or who we are playing.

"Getting to the World Cup has given us confidence and brought us closer to the French public. Although our next game is a friendly we want to win and have no regrets."

France will take on Norway and Paraguay in further friendlies in June and Jamaica in July prior to their World Cup Group E fixtures against Honduras, Switzerland and Ecuador.
