Tottenham's Giovani dos Santos will have to wait for a loan move to Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna due to transfer restrictions.
The Mexico international has fallen out of favour with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and is keen to move on.
His wishes were almost granted when Deportivo stepped in for his services but it has now come to the fore that he will not be able to shift until January.
Deportivo sporting director Ricardo Moar has confirmed that although the club is keen to acquire dos Santos, a loan move cannot be done with a player outside of Spain until the next transfer window.
"It is impossible to bring Giovani to Galicia," Moar said.
"We like him very much but the Spanish Football Federation has clarified we cannot bring a foreign player in. They would have to be (based in Spain)."
