Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos says he does not regret leaving Catalan giants Barcelona. The 22-year old Mexico international departed the Nou Camp for White Hart Lane in June 2008 but has failed to make an impression in North London.
dos Santos has played fewer first team matches for Spurs in three years than he did with Barca in less time there but says his decision was based on getting more first team football.
"I spent many years at the club and it was a difficult decision, but regret that, no," he said.
"I always look forward. It was a decision you have to think very well and is very hard to take. I think too much. In the end, I wanted to play some more."
dos Santos' younger brother, Jonathan, is currently taking a similar path with Barcelona where he is mainly plying his trade for the B team and Giovani is tipping him to become a quality player.
"Jonathan is very happy there," he added. "Playing in the second division is very good. He has great qualities and is also in the best team in the world. You have to be patient because in time they (young players) get to show their quality."
As for his own career, dos Santos says he is enjoying his time with his national team who are currently competing in the Copa America after winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup last month.
