Tottenham ace Clint Dempsey has been confirmed as a starter for the USA as they prepare for World Cup qualifiers later this month.
There was some doubt regarding the 30-year old taking part in the March 22 meeting with Costa Rica in Denver as well as the trip to Mexico four days later but a Twitter post from US Soccer, via manager Juergen Klinsmann, says he should return from a calf injury as Spurs get set to face Inter Milan in the Europa League on Thursday.
"Spoke with Clint. Back in training & hopes to play v Inter. All good for WCQs," read the post in response to a question asked by a fan.
Dempsey scored the USA's only goal in the opening fixture of the hexagonal round which they lost 2-1 to Honduras in San Pedro Sula in early February.
