Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe says he will not let his non-goal in yesterday's 3-2 loss to Manchester City affect him.
The England international was unable to get his foot to a through ball at the back post from Gareth Bale late in the Etihad Stadium meeting when the score was 2-2 before City scored a late penalty through Mario Balotelli to take the victory.
But Defoe said it was simply a case of him being too short to reach the pass and insists that the miss it will not haunt him.
"Those ones can be difficult sometimes because when Gareth made the cross he had to play it in front of me rather than straight and I just couldn't reach it.""It is not going to play on my mind. If I had longer legs, I'd have scored! I just couldn't reach," he said.
