A Simon Dawkins brace helped San Jose Earthquakes to a 4-1 home win over Colorado Rapids on the weekend.

The Tottenham loanee was on target on two occasions, along with Alan Gordon, as the Quakes went seven points clear at the top of the Western Conference table.

Dawkins kicked things off in the 11th minute with the opener before Gordon added a second in just before half-time.

Tyrone Marshall pulled one back for the Rapids ten minutes into the second half prior to Dawkins grabbed his sixth goal of the season in the 68th minute and then Gordon finished it off with his 12th of the campaign with 15 minutes remaining.
