Tottenham's controversial signing Fryers settling well

Zeki Fryers moved to Tottenham Hotspur following his controversial move from Standard Liege but has remained unaffected by the fallout. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was furious with Tottenham when they signed Fryers a fortnight ago, accusing the London club of setting up a secret deal to sign the defender on the cheap just four months after he left Old Trafford for Belgium.

"It's been great so far, mixing in with the lads and the facilities here are great to learn and to get better," the 20-year-old told Tottenham's website.

"I knew a couple of the lads from England youth internationals and I pretty much know everyone already. I've just got to get to know the staff now. I'm very happy to be here."

Fryers has played two games since his arrival - a development squad win over Charlton and a 5-1 under-21 victory over Wolves on Monday.

"It was great to play in the friendly (against Charlton) last week, playing 60 minutes there and I played 90 minutes against Wolves. I've now got to build on that," Fryers added.
