Tottenham have been given a boost with news that David Bentley is back in full training after a groin injury.
The 25-year old was in good form on the right wing for Spurs before the injury and now he is close to full fitness is a chance to make the trip to Stoke on the weekend.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has persisted with Bentley and gave him a chance when right winger Aaron Lennon went down with a groin injury of his own and his performances did not disappoint.
And Bentley’s imminent return comes at a good time personally with the serious injury to David Beckham and the ongoing problem Lennon is experiencing, giving him a realistic chance of being selected for Fabio Capello’s England squad for the World Cup.

I am all for spurs players proving there worth, i love it when a player comes and shows his stock. But David bentley has not. To the pricks that said check your stats. My job is to go over stats. loads of assists. Rubbish. In the premier league he has zero assists. He has two assists against league one Leeds United. And his inspirational goal against Fulham was a free kick that was not even on target. It took a telling deflection. But you pricks can wank off because David Bentley has had two spells in his Spurs career. The start of last season - our worst start in our history. And a short period this season, which was our worst of the season. So you can ***** right off.
I'd say he's a 'different' player rather one to be relied upon. A bit like JJ - capable of doing the unexpected but not on a regular basis.
One day the truth will come out why things have not worked out in the initial stages of his time with us (personal problems).
With limited options, i'd say - give him a place again. I agree, theres more to David than just wing play - a very talented midfield player.
How can any 'supposed' supporter not wish him well?. You are either a yido or you are not!.
Spurs have got results in recent matches - but lacked creativity and you wonder what will happen against the 'big 4'.
However, the question must be - what happens to DB when Lennon is back?. Lennon is easily the best player Spurs have.
As for England... i'm sorry, i'd like to say I can see him going to the world cup but there are better players ahead of him.
bentley worked his bollocks off in every game he played in, whe he came back i the team. you must of been wanking t the time of bentleys assists, cause im sure he created a good number off them. on manys occasions he tracking back to defend earned us vta;l points,
