Gareth Bale has been ruled out of Tottenham's Europa League fixture with NK Maribor tomorrow night.
The Welsh winger will not be available for 'family reasons' following the birth of he and his girlfriend's first child which occurred on Saturday, forcing him to miss the Premier League clash with Chelsea.
"Gareth hasn't travelled (to Slovenia) for family reasons. He'll train at home to get ready for Southampton," Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas told reporters.
"We've been discussing it since he left us for the game against Chelsea, so he is allowed to stay with his family until tomorrow. It's a conversation I had with him.
"I think on such an important date, it's important to give the player the choice of return, so he returns mentally strong and ready to focus on the game."
