Tottenham winger Gareth Bale will undergo a scan on the ankle that was injured in a pre-season friendly yesterday.
The Welshman was brought down from behind by Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam during the meeting between the two clubs in Baltimore and is facing some time on the sidelines as a result of the tacke.
"My ankle is very, very sore. We'll have to wait and see how it goes. I'll probably need a scan," said Bale.
He was also extremely unhappy with the treatment he received from Adam who seriously injured Bale with a poor tackle when he was at Blackpool about 15 months ago.
"I was surprised to see a challenge like that in a friendly," he said.
"We're over here to build our fitness and get a good workout and what he did was over the top, to be honest. But some people are like that and it's just wrong. There are pictures on the internet of what he did before when he snapped my ankle ligaments.
"I was out for three months then and one player told me he went out to do the same thing to me again.
"He's obviously come for me twice now - and he's got me twice."
