Tottenham's AVB not expecting to go after new striker in January

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has indicated that he will not pursue a new striker in the January transfer window.

Spurs have one of the worst attacks in the Premier League at present having scored just nine goals in 12 matches which has prompted calls to enter the transfer market in the winter but the manager feels he has the players to do the job.

"(Roberto) Soldado, Jermain Defoe and (Emmanuel) Adebayor are all proven goalscorers, so we can't really get much better than these three," he said ahead of Thursday's Europa League meeting with Tromso.

"The only thing that we have to do, if we are not scoring from the opportunities we are creating, is making sure that we double the amount of opportunities we create to make sure a couple of them finish in the back of the net."
