Andre Villas-Boas was delighted with the performance of Roberto Soldado in Tottenham's 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Spaniard slotted home with a deft finish from a smart Paulinho pass in the 69th minute to record his third goal of the season, prompting positive words from the manager.

"It was a great performance. He was making the most out of his opportunities and this is the reason why we bought him," he told Sky Sports.
