Tottenham full-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto says he feared for Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba on the weekend.
The 23-year old lay stricken on the White Hart Lane turf after falling into cardiac arrest during the FA Cup clash between the two sides on Saturday and Assou-Ekotto, who was fearful, has commended the medical teams for doing a great job to revive the England U21 international.
"He is young, supposedly fit, an athlete who seconds ago was running up and down the same field."
He added: "I witnessed the magic of the moment. I saw a group of people, professionals, who were not caught up in the moment but were only focused.
"The medics who took care of him along with the medical guys from Spurs and Bolton were focused on Fabrice. They were not distracted by anything. Instead they worked, calmly and professionally, doing the things that had to be done to give Fabrice a chance.
"I am not an expert, but seeing what I saw, I know we still have Fabrice with us because of the work of these guys.""I was scared for him, scared for his family and all those who care about him. I was also scared because he was just like me," the Spurs defender told the Evening Standard.
