Emmanuel Adebayor has returned to the Togo national team following his initial decision to step down in April 2010.
The Manchester City striker, on loan at Tottenham, quit international football three months after the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola when the Togo team bus was shot up, leaving three people dead.
But Adebayor has confirmed he is ready to again play for his nation, starting with the upcoming clash with Guinea Bissau.
"I am happy to say that I am returning for Togo and will make myself available for next week's game against Guinea Bissau," he said.
"I decided to quit the international scene because I had concerns over the safety of players after the deadly attack in Cabinda.
"Things were not done properly. The FTF (Togo Football Federation) agreed with the key issues I raised and they have resolved that they will solve these problems for the benefit of all the players.
"I want to serve my country but the safety of all the players in the team must be paramount. I have been assured that this issue and others will be addressed."
