Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is eager to close a deal for Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.
The Mirror says Ajax centre-half Vertonghen is expected back in north London today for talks and a possible medical before completing a £7million-plus move.
Spurs are confident they have beaten off competition from Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United for the Belgian defender, who is available at a bargain price because he has only one season left on his current deal.
