Tottenham insist there's no agreement with Luka Modric to allow him to move on. Modric has claimed that chairman Daniel Levy's stance reneges on a gentleman's agreement that was struck when he signed a six-year contract extension on 30th May 2010.
But Spurs officials are continuing to dig in their heels regarding their playmaker and are adamant that no such understanding is, or was, in place, says Sky Sports.
Chelsea are now expected to table an improved offer for Modric, as new manager Andre Villas-Boas bids to add some creativity to his midfield while also decreasing the average age of his squad.
