Tottenham are following Hector Herrera's situation at Porto.

The Mexico captain was expected to leave Porto last month after an impressive World Cup, however the market shut with the midfielder still in Portugal.

Sportmediaset says AS Roma chief Monchi is a fan and keen to move for Herrera in January - but he'll face competition from Spurs.

Porto will be reluctant to lose Herrera midseason, though the player's thinking will be the key factor.

At Spurs, Herrera could arrive as a replacement for Mousa Dembele, who is fielding lucrative offers from China.
