Tottenham are preparing a January bid for Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez.

The Daily Star says they are weighing up a renewed attempt to sign Newcastle's £12m-rated Spaniard.

Spurs enquired about Perez, who is also being monitored by Manchester United and Manchester City, in August only to be told he is not for sale.

But Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is desperate to bolster his attacking options in January as the club targets a return to the Champions League next season.

Newcastle signed Perez for a bargain £2m from Tenerife in the summer of 2014, but his value has since soared on the back of some eye-catching performances for the Toon.
