Tottenham reject chance to appeal Davinson Sanchez suspension

Tottenham have decided not to appeal the red card which defender Davinson Sanchez received against Watford during the weekend and this means that the player will miss his sides games against Stoke, Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester City.

The Colombian international was given his marching orders during the game against the Hornets during the weekend after putting his arm across the face of Richarlison.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino did not comment on the incident but did say that he would review footage of the incident in private before deciding on whether it is worthwhile to launch an appeal.

The absence of Sanchez means that Spurs are only with three recognised centre-halves in Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen and Juan Foyth until their game against Burnley on December 23.

Sanchez will however be able to play for his side when they face off against APOEL Nicosia in a Champions League clash on Wednesday.
