Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor is closing on a move to Tottenham.

The Sun says Adebayor hopes to complete his £5million move to Spurs this week.

A deal was agreed between Manchester City and the White Hart Lane side over six weeks ago but the switch stalled because of personal terms.

But Adebayor has now indicated he is ready to take a significant pay cut to push things along.

The Togo international has two years left on the £170,000-a-week deal he signed when he joined City in summer 2009.
