Tottenham are ready to hand Eric Dier a new contract.

The Telegraph says Spurs are ready to make Dier one of the club's top earners by offering him a five-year deal worth £70,000 a week, according to reports.

The midfielder, 22, was one of Spurs' stand-out performer last season as they finished in the top three for the first time since 1990.

Dier only signed a five-year deal last summer but Tottenham chief Daniel Levy wants to be sure of the former Sporting Lisbon ace's future.

The contract will run until 2021 and follows bright defender Kevin Wimmer's new and improved five-year deal.
