Tottenham are ready to test Everton's resolve over Stephen Pienaar.

The Daily Maul says Tottenham are preparing a bid for Everton midfielder Pienaar after his agent gave the Goodison club three weeks to make an improved contract offer.

Pienaar, a £2million signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2007, has one year left on his current deal and talks over an extension have stalled.
