Tottenham are ready to make Luka Modric their highest paid player.
The People says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is ready to boost the midfielder's wages to around £80,000-a-week after winning his battle to keep the Croatian at White Hart Lane.
Modric became unsettled in the summer as Chelsea tried to take the £40million-rated star across London.
But Levy dug his heels in and refused to sell and now boss Harry Redknapp has made it clear he would like an improved deal agreed as soon as possible.
Modric currently picks up £45,000-a-week but Tottenham are keen to start talks with the player and his agent before the international break.
