Tottenham are pushing to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
The Mirror says Spurs will try to clinch Barkley's signing before leaving for their pre-season tour of the USA this week.
But they have told Everton chiefs they will not pay anywhere near their £50 million valuation.
Having just squeezed £54m from Manchester City for full-back Kyle Walker , Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has turned his attention to want-away Everton star Barkley.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Levy Barkley is his number one summer target, but with the 23-year-old in the last season of his contract Levy won't splash out a huge fee. He values the midfielder between £25m and £30m.
