Tottenham are pushing to sign Celta Vigo midfielder Pape Cheikh Diop.
The Mirror says Pochettino has made Diop his No1 midfield target — threatening Everton star Ross Barkley's hopes of a move to the north Londoners.
Pochettino — the only Premier League manager yet to make a new signing in this transfer window — wants Celta Vigo star Diop, although Spurs have had a long-standing interest in fellow midfielder Barkley, who has turned down a new contract at Everton and is keen on a switch to Spurs.
Goodison chiefs are ready to offload the England international — they have agreed a £45million fee for Swansea playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson and Barkley has only one year left on his contract.
