Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has indicated that Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch is proving too expensive an option. He told Sky Sports News: "Portsmouth are trying to sell Crouchy. Sunderland were interested and I think Fulham are interested.
"I like Crouchy but at the moment I have got four strikers here. Four good strikers. So it is not a priority.
"I haven't got to get rid of anyone. We are not desperate at the moment for strikers.
"I just feel that for that type of money it is an awful lot of money, no disrespect, but Peter is 28-years-old.
"Basically it is an expensive deal because there is no return when you pay that type of money. And obviously his salary is high.
"I don't know whether it is possible for us to do that type of deal. It is an expensive deal. The whole package looks expensive."
