Tottenham are ready to pounce for Wigan Athletic striker Amr Zaki.

The People says Wigan boss Steve Bruce will risk losing out in an auction for Zaki - and that has opened the door for Tottenham.

Bruce will not pay over the odds for the red-hot marksman as his club Zamalek try to get more cash for the on-loan Latics star.

He said: "I hope Amr continues to be here after this season. If it goes to £10m and we can't do it, then we can't do it. The price changes every week."

Wigan have first option to buy him during this season and Bruce said: "If we can agree a fee we will."
