Tottenham are believed to be considering sending Benoit Assou-Ekotto to AS Roma on loan.
The Cameroonian left-back has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane and could be used in a loan switch to lure Federico Balzaretti to North London according to the Daily Mail.
31-year old Balzaretti was used 27 times in the Serie A last term and played a full 90 minutes in their season opening win at Livorno on the weekend suggesting Rudi Garcia has him firmly in his plans.
Nevertheless, Tottenham's Andre Villas-Boas prefers Balzaretti to Assou-Ekotto and may try to swindle a loan exchange if he can.
