Tottenham playmaker Modric looking to bounce back against Blackburn

Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric is confident of bouncing back to winning ways against Blackburn Rovers.

Spurs dominated against Sunderland for an hour and looked well set for victory when Rafael van der Vaart opened the scoring after 64 minutes.

But Sunderland hit back just three minutes later and that's how it stayed.

"We're playing well in the Champions League and I think we're strong enough to turn things around in the Premier League," Modric told the Spurs website.

"I hope we start doing this from our next game against Blackburn. We have to win this game.

"I think we deserved to win against Sunderland. If we could have held the lead for five or 10 minutes I think we would have probably won the game.

"But we conceded a bad goal straight after and that was frustrating. We fought after that, tried all we could to find another goal but we couldn't do it.

"It didn't happen for us and all we can do is focus on the next game."
