Tottenham players reflect on Hong Kong friendly

Tottenham Hotspur rounded off their fine campaign with a 4-1 post-season friendly victory over Kichee SC at Hong Kong on Sunday.

Young Kazaiah Sterling made a very good impression during the encounter after finding the net on his first senior appearance and the youngster expressed his delight at making such an impact.

Sterling said: "I'm delighted to play my first game with the first team and to score as well. It was a great experience to play in front of a crowd that big (28,000). It was a special moment for me. It's a good landmark for me to try to kick on now. I've had a taste and I'm just going to work as hard as I can again next season."

"It's been great. I'd never been to Hong Kong before and I didn't realise there was such a big Tottenham fanbase out here. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip. I've never signed so many autographs! Before this tour, I didn't really have an autograph! I didn't realise how popular we were out here, especially players like Harry Kane and Dele Alli, as soon as they came out the fans went wild for them. The fans were very welcoming, very enthusiastic and that was great to see."

Vincent Janssen also got himself on the score sheet during the game and was happy to find the back of the net to conclude a difficult campaign on a positive note.

Janssen added: "It's always important to perform well in these matches. We played well, won the game and it's been a good week for us. It was a good last game of the season and it's always nice to score, so I'm happy. I now have three games with Holland, so I'll keep going to the end and then it will be time for a break!"

Hugo Lloris and Heung-Min Son were astonished by the strong support received by Tottenham in Hong Kong and the duo went on to thank the fans for their contribution on the day.

Lloris expressed his gratitude saying: "On behalf of the team I would like to say thanks to the fans, we had a great welcome and a great time here. It's true this game was a friendly but we represent the Club and we tried to give pleasure to all the fans who came to the stadium. It was a good week. It's true that everywhere in Hong Kong we had great support and people were very respectful to our team and we're very grateful for that."

Son said: "It's a great night, I was happy to score and I say 'thanks' to our Asian fans and Tottenham fans all over the world. Thanks for your amazing support, that's why we're here and next season, we look to go forward again."
